When registering your youth athlete for a scholastic team this year, you signed up for Cazenovia Athletic Association (CAA) membership. This has been a year of transition for CAA and the current Board is looking for general membership involvement, as well as members who are interested in serving as an officer for the upcoming school year.
CAA is inviting general members to the end-of-year meeting on June 18 at 8 a.m. in the high school Wellness Conference Room. Please come to learn more about CAA, joining the CAA Board, and leadership positions. You are welcome to bring a friend as well!
At Saturday's meeting, the Board will be electing two new officers: co-president and concession committee chairperson. If you are interested in the executive board (and I hope you are!), here are the steps that need to be taken to be eligible for office:
1. Join CAA as a dues paying member
2. Attend the CAA Board Meeting on June 18
3. Join the CAA Board
4. Run for a vacant position
5. Be elected by a majority of the CAA Board
There are also several standing committees in the bylaws (Membership Committee, Concession Committee, Publicity Committee, Hall of Fame Committee) which have been inactive and need new board members to revitalize them. There is a lot more CAA can be doing and building up a strong executive committee is a great first step.
